White and grey Striped Blouse

Our cat Boots modeling the sleeves before I attached them to the blouse.
They fit loosely over his head, so cute, like a baby bonnet.
Boots wanted to move around a lot as my sister held him for the pics.
I probably took 14-15 photographs before I could get something recognizable. :)
This is a blouse that I made using the JJ pattern+some improvising on the collar/minus the princess seams (limited fabric on this swatch).

Why toto, we're not in Kansas anymore...

I took some old hot pink shoes, and after removing the plastic hibicus on the top, cleaned and glittered them. I combined a fine glitter with a coarser glitter, and adhered it to the shoes with mod podge. I also adhered some sequin trim around the top of the shoes. Fabric and Buttons from Atlantic, IA...

We went to both Walnut and Atlantic in the same afternoon, as they are very close together.
I found some buttons in Bonnesens (old fashioned five and dime store: if you happen to be in the area make sure to stop, they have everything from crepe paper to penny candy).
And I purchased some fabric for some dresses, a blouse and skirt.

More notions from Walnut,IA...

I found some-more good stuff in my antique shop hunts.

Ta Tum! Drumroll, introducing a new blog...

After much deliberation I decided to launch my own little sister blog just for my culinary exploits, I will be discussing all things related to and surrounding food/drinks, and of course posting my recipe creations. Come and see! :) I have a link to the side, and the web address is labeebonvivant.blogspot.com.
Enjoy! :)
