Fabulous Japanese sewing books

Black and white clothes
Fashions from Cinema

I have been drooling over a handful of Japanese sewing books for the longest time. One Sunday I was prowling around on ebay and spotted these two for a decent price... soooo...

I ordered them and they just came in todays mail. There are lots of projects in these books (they come with the patterns too!) that I cannot wait to make. Lovely Jackets, dresses, blouses...

Olfa

Yay, finally. I broke down and spent a couple jingles and got myself a nice rotary cutter. This will speed up the cutting process above the usual shears, I guess that was the idea ;)

Red spiral scarf

I crocheted this scarf using the spiral scarf pattern from fuzzy galore, I have a link here on the blog.

The longest green scarf

I crocheted this using a ball of yarn from sow-a-seed in Walnut, IA. It's at least 6 ft. long I think...

Blue Velvet Shoes

Here is another pair of my vintagy makeover shoes. I stripped the plastic jems off of these and hand embroidered flower sequins and glass seed beads onto them.

Damask-ish clutch

I made this with some decor weight Amy Butler fabric that I have had since last fall. This is my own pattern. I made one of my flowers using a series of hearts layered over each other and stitched through the center and applied a cluster of amber, turquiose and red beads to the center. It also has a really big sew-in snap to fasten it.

Green wool felt hat

Here is another of my millinery creations using the bucket hat pattern from www.fmfcorp.com/familyspot/haircover.html and one of my freeform flowers from the leftover fragments after the hat was cut out. It's lined and finished on the inside with a band of grosgrain.
